How To Pick A Scuba Diving Wetsuit
There are many factors to consider when figuring out what kind of wetsuit you want to go with for scuba diving. And considering that the wetsuit is one of the most important components in your scuba diving equipment, you will want to give this some thought before you make a purchase.
For starters, what types of water conditions will you be going scuba diving in? This will determine how thick your wetsuit should be, and what the related functionality should be. Basically, the colder the water temperatures that you will be scuba diving in, the thicker the wetsuit that you will want. And likewise, if you will be diving in warmer water, a thinner wetsuit is advised.
You will also want to pick a wetsuit that fits you well. The tighter the wetsuit is, the less water that will be allowed to get in, which means that you will stay warmer. This is extremely important, because if your body gets exposed to water, even when it is warm water, it will actually force the body heat away from your body, which is never a good thing.
Considering how many options and sizes are available for wetsuits, you should easily be able to find the one that fits you right, and is of the desired thickness. Just remember, tighter is certainly better, but you don’t want a wetsuit that is tight to the point where it is downright uncomfortable. And again, as far as thickness goes, go with a thinner wetsuit if the water temperature is going to be warm where you will be diving, and go with a thicker suit if the water will be cold.
